Remember the Journey

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a layout for Gina's Designs. My mother-in-law took this photo at Land's End, in Cornwall.
I had a lot of fun decorating the chipboard, as usual!
For the background I applied texture paste on a texture sheet, then sponged on gesso. I then painted with Viva Modeling Cream, then a little Lindy's, watercolors, and Twinkling H20s.
I prepped all the chipboard with gesso. I drew some detail on the seahorse with a pencil, then painted it with brown watercolor. I added some gold perfect pearls. I took off some of the brown later with a wet brush, to give it a little more dimension, and put some more paint on different areas. On the gears on the upper right, and the flourish at the right of the photo I poured gold embossing powder on wet gesso, then heated it. The gesso made it bubble up for some extra texture.I dry brushed some Vintaj patina paint on top. I painted the gears at the bottom right and center of the photo with brown watercolor, I applied a layer of glossy accents and put the items on a pile of crushed up mica flakes. I topped them with some patina paint. For the title work I painted with twinkling H20s, then put on some versamark embossing ink. I poured on chunky clear embossing powder and heated it.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you find some scrappy time for yourself today!

Journey

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a layout for Gina's Designs. This photo was taken near Sequoia National Park in California.
I love all the curls and swirls on the chipboard. I used that as a theme for the way I decorated it.  After I prepped it with gesso, I put on texture paste in a small area, and twisted pieces of it with a straight pin. I repeated this until the whole thing was covered. I painted with layers of Lindy's Stamp Gang, and topped it with a mixture of  gold perfect pearls and a tiny amount of water. I put crackle paint on one area, which came out a lot darker than the rest of the frame.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you have some scrap time today!

Two Vintage Cards

Hi everyone! Melissa here for Gina's Designs.  I think the beautiful chipboard I used here complemented the the vintage theme, and I love the way it looks. The shape of the daisy is so intricate! I prepped all the chipboard with gesso. I painted the leaves on the left side card with watered down green acrylic paint. I dabbed off a little with a paper towel.  I put texture paste on the daisy, and made lines in it with a straight pin. I painted on a combination of Twinkling H20s and Lindy's Stamp Gang. While wet I put on some on some pink, then white Perfect Pearls. I mixed yellow and green watercolors to make the center of the daisy.
I painted the flourish on the right side card with a mix of red and white acrylic paint.  When dry I put on a layer of glitter glue, and sprinkled on glitter glass.
Thanks for looking, and I hope you have time to create something today!

Family

Hi everyone! Melissa here for Gina's Designs. This is a photo of family in New York meeting my son for the first time.

I think the beautiful chipboard I used worked well with the page. I first prepped the pieces with gesso. The butterfly and flowers that are blue-green are painted with Lindy's Stamp Gang. I  brushed some gold Pearlex powder on the butterfly wings.

The silver flowers are a few layers of Twinkling H20s and  pearlex powders over texture paste. I had made the lines in the wet texture paste with a straight pin. The top coat is silver leaf paint, with a little gold pearlex brushed on. The little fern frond is first green chalk ink with some Utee sprinkled on and heated. I brushed silver Pearlex on, then a little gold leaf paint.

Thanks for looking!
