Trick Or Treat

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new design team post for the amazing Shimmerzpaints! I love their rich texture and colors!

To make this card I used paper from 49 And Market, glued on top of a card made from watercolor paper. The image is from Tim Holtz paper dolls.

I picked out Reneabouquets Beautiful Board frame, figured out where it would go on the page, and prepped it with white gesso. I painted it with Green Olive Shimmerz and Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz. On the small star at the right I used Plum Crazy and Imperial Amethyst Inklingz. On each of them I poured on a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle.

I applied texture paste to the background with a bubble stencil from Prima. I painted all the raised areas of the paste with Green Olive Shimmerz and Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz. I put Plum Crazy and Imperial Amethyst Inklingz on the background.

To add visual interest I used Glossy Accents to put on micro beads, seed beads, gold leaf, swarovski crystals, glass shard glitter, glass beads, pearls, iridescent wrapping paper, tulle, pressed flowers and leaves, bark, feathers left by birds at the bird bath outside, shells, fussy cut images from Graphic 45,flowers from Reneabouquets, metal from Tim Holtz and and bling and metal from my stash.I rubbed and flicked on gold and purple mica powder.

The white area to the right of the boy is  Dear John Letter ,it's also at other areas of the card.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Make Me A Promise, A Reneabouquets Design Team Page, by Melissa Larson

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Reneabouquets. Go and see all the fun treasures there!

To make this page I applied clear gesso to Blue Fern paper.

I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger and to lie flat. Below that is a watercolor paper mat, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most of the paper from the top of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso.I put two or three layers of cardboard between the layers to add dimension.

I put the layers with the photo onto the page.

I had already painted the Blue Fern paper with clear gesso. I applied Prima Platinum crackle paste with a stencil and an old credit card. I picked out Beautiful Board, and sponged on gesso.

I painted the layers and background with green, brown, pale pink, and gold Shimmerz Paints.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass glitter, glass beads, pearls, rhinestones, pressed flowers, feathers, tulle, shells,a glass pebble, iridescent wrapping paper under the glass pebble, metal from Reneabouquets,Tim Holtz, and Vintaj, flowers from  Reneabouquets, and bling and metal from my stash. Most of the things are glued on individually with Glossy Accents. There are some fussy cut images from Prima and Graphic 45 papers. I flicked on white ink as a last step.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Reneabouquets Artists With An Edge October 2020 Moodboard Challenge

Hi everyone! It's October, which means there is a new mood board challenge in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group

In case you are new to my blog, we do a mood board challenge every month in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group. Everyone who enters a new project using items from Reneabouquets, gets entered into a chance to win a Reneabouquets prize package at the end of the month.

Here is the kick off project that I made for this month's challenge.

To make this page I applied clear gesso to Blue Fern Jane's Eclectic Charm paper.

I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on Blue Fern paper under the Tim Holtz Paper Dolls image to make it stronger. Below that is a watercolor paper mat, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most of the paper from the top of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso.I put two or three layers of thick cardboard between the layers to add dimension.

I put the layers with the photo onto the page.

I applied Prima Platinum crackle paste with a stencil and an old credit card. I picked out Beautiful Board, and sponged on gesso on it.

I painted all the BB with gold mica powder and water, and some Christmas Cheer Shimmerz from Shimmerz Paints.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass glitter, glass beads, rhinestones, lichen, feathers, black tulle, black lace, metal from Reneabouquets,Tim Holtz, and Vintaj, flowers from  Reneabouquets,Prima, and bling and metal from my stash. Most of the things are glued on individually with Glossy Accents. There are some fussy cut images from Graphic 45 papers. I brushed on black ink around the edges of the layers to add definition. I rubbed on Brilliant Gold Jaquard mica powder all over the page,on just about everything. I flicked some on too.

As a final touch, I rubbed on Prima wax in white gold, and purple over different raised areas of the page.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!
