Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Reneabouquets! I've used a photo of my daughter in law Aron at the bottom left, and a mermaid image on the right.

I've used Paradise Treasure Box #2

To make this page I took Mintay Paradise paper and put texture paste on with a bubbles stencil. I ripped off the top layer of corrugated cardboard, painted them with gesso, and while wet, sprinkled on Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. I heated it til just melted, then added the images. I used cardboard in between the layers to add dimension. I painted the Beautiful Board seahorse with Prima Sparks Butterfly Spell, and topped it with a thick layer of Ranger Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint. I painted the BBoard  Ocean Bubbles Texture Panel with Prima Magic Pond Sparks Acrylic Paint, and topped it with a thick layer of Crackle.

To add visual interest I added micro beads,glass glitter,sequins, pearls, shells, pressed flowers and leaves, lichen, cheesecloth, and pink tulle. 

All the white on the page is Amsterdam ink, except in the center area, where I used white gesso.

I rubbed on white gold Prima wax and gold mica powder on a lot of the raised surfaces. This was to highlight and kind of tie everything together.

I used different colors of Shimmerz Paints over the Sand Chunky Glitter Glass. I rubbed on silver mica powder over a lot of the page.

Laguna Beach

Hi! Melissa here with a new page, I've used a photo my husband took at Laguna Beach, California. I was thrilled to be there. There's just nothing better than being at the beach. This is a boardwalk that goes a long way, and we walked on it for awhile. This is one of the most gorgeous beaches I've ever seen, I am so in love with California. I lived there for about 5 years.

I've used Paradise Treasure Box #2

To make this page I took Mintay Paradise paper, and put gesso on with a cosmetic sponge. I applied texture paste with a stencil, then put together the layers with the photo, I used watercolor paper and corrugated paper. I put pieces of cardboard between the layers to add dimension.  I painted the Bboard with Shimmerz Paints,then applied a thick coat of crackle paint.

To add visual interest I added glass glitter,pearls,sequins, pressed flowers and leaves,gauze, pink and black tulle, shells, glass balls,fussy cut images from the Paradise Paper collection, and metal pieces from the Treasure Box. I cut up a little of the pink tulle and glued it on the page, and tucked a little in the layers of the photo, on the left.

I used White Gold Prima wax on the metal frame, and dimensional magic over a piece of Paradise paper. The Prima wax is all over the embellishments on the page, I used it to kind of tie things together.

I painted the gauze with Amsterdam gold ink. I painted on a few colors of Tattered Angels in lavender and blue. I used Shimmerz Inklingz in a pink color, and a teal color on the watercolor paper and corrugated under the photo and at the bottom of the page.

There's a lot of sand chunky glitter at the bottom of the page.

The mermaid has the same White Gold wax on. You can see I used gold mica powder here on the glitter, and on other places on the page, to highlight the texture.

Under the butterfly on the left and on other areas of the page, I used Mermaid Shard glitter.

I brushed on white Amsterdam ink in a couple areas to make the page less busy, and rubbed on silver mica powder on a lot of the page. I used one of Renea's gorgeous butterflies at the left of the photo. I use them, or dragonflies,on every page I make.

Embrace The Journey

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints! These paints are so wonderfully textured and colored, I love them! 
I've used a photo from free google, from Stella de Libero.

I took the photo below on a sunny day, the day after I had to post.

To make this page I applied texture paste with a stencil onto watercolor paper. I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on card stock under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a layer of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard.I tore off most of the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put layers of cardboard between everything, to add dimension. I clipped the edges of the watercolor paper to a 12 x 12 " piece of cardboard to prevent warping. After I had the page all put together, I added first water, then Shimmerz Paint to the background paper. I used Teal the End of Time and Moonrock Shimmerz, and First Blush Inklingz. Later I painted on white Higgins Ink, to cover areas where it looked too busy with all the textural things, or if there was too much color. I also splashed the page with the  white ink. On the corrugated and waterpaper layers under the photo I used Moonrock, Honeymoon, First Blush, Penny 4 Your Thoughts,Imperial Amethyst, and Plum Crazy Inklingz. 

I picked out Reneabouquets Beautiful Board, applied gesso with a cosmetic sponge, then painted it with Moonrock Shimmerz, and when dry, topped it with a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy. There is Pink Shimmerz at the left of the photo.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, glass glitter,metal glitter,seed beads,glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals,rhinestones, acrylic crystals,pressed flowers and leaves, strands of gauze,tulle, small pieces of iridescent wrapping paper,gold mica flakes,gold leaf,shells,metal from Reneabouquets and Tim Holtz, flowers from Reneabouquets,and bling and metal from my stash. A lot of the textural elements are from Reneabouquets.

Refridgerator magnets for Reneabouquets July 2019 Swap

Hi everyone! Melissa here with the Reneabouquets July 2019 Fridge Magnet Swap. I asked Renea what style of magnets she wanted. She asked me to make some using my mixed media style. The colors she picked were gold and bronze. 

To make these magnets I took two 3x3 canvases, and brushed on gesso. 

I picked out Beautiful Board, applied gesso with a brush, then painted it with Shimmerz Paints, and when dry, topped it with a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint.You can also see gold mica powder,and Prima White Gold Wax.  

To add visual interest I added the Tim Holtz images, micro beads, glass glitter,metal glitter,seed beads,glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals,sequins,rhinestones,pressed flowers and leaves,lichen, strands of gauze,tulle, small pieces of iridescent wrapping ,gold leaf, shells,Tim Holtz, and bling and metal from my stash. I put everything on in stages, starting with the smallest, the microbeads and glitter. I brushed on layers of Shimmerz Paints in Honeymoon Inklingz, a lavender color. I used gold ink, Prima Metallic Gold Coin Paint, and Prima waxes. As I went I brushed and rubbed on gold mica powder. The stick type item with the butterfly on it is a thread of burlap ribbon. I used Glossy Accents,and double sided foam tape for everything.

Regular magnets weren't strong enough, so I put some very tiny ones on that were.I glued pieces of paper on them because I thought they might damage the surface of a fridge.

5x7 Canvas

Hi everyone! Melissa here with two new cards for the amazing Shimmerz Paints! These paints are so wonderfully textured and bright, I love them. 

To make this canvas, I prepped it with gesso, and when dry, stenciled on texture paste. I put the chipboard on with double sided tape, then a piece of Prima Moonchild paper. I taped aTim Holtz image on top. In between are layers of cardboard to add dimension. I painted the chipboard with gesso, then Miner,Miner 49er Inklingz, and topped it with a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy Crackle.

 Most of the purple is Honeymoon Inklingz, but I also used Imperial Amethyst and Plum Crazy Inklingz. I used a lot of Pearlex Mica Powder, and gold Amsterdam Ink.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, glass glitter,metal glitter, seed beads,glass beads, pearls,sequins,gold leaf,gold mica, Swarovski crystals,rhinestones,pressed flowers,lichen,leaves,a shell,a flower from Prima, ribbon,black tulle,gauze,iridescent wrapping paper, metal from Reneabouquets,Vintaj,Tim Holtz, and my stash.

Two Cards

Hi everyone! Melissa here with two new cards for the amazing Shimmerz Paints! These paints are so wonderfully textured and bright, I love them. 

To make these cards, I used pieces of Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante paper,and taped on card stock under them to make them stronger.The rest is watercolor paper. I put in layers of cardboard to add dimension. I stenciled on texture paste , and then added color to it and the background watercolor paper. I used Blue My Mind , Angel's Kiss,and Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz, and  Tickle Me Turquoise, Ultra Marine, Peacock's Plume , and Green Olive Shimmerz.

I picked out Beautiful Board, sponged on gesso,then painted it with Shimmerz Paints, and when dry, topped it with a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint.
  You can see gold mica powder, I dabbed it on to sort of tie everything together. On the above card I also used gold and black ink.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, glass glitter,metal and distress glitter, copper Stickles, seed beads,glass beads, pearls,sequins,copper leaf, Swarovski crystals,rhinestones,pressed flowers,lichen,leaves, flowers from Prima and Recollections, black tulle,gauze, metal from Tim Holtz and my stash.
