Reneabouquets October 2019 Mood Board Challenge

Hi everyone! It's October, which means there is a new mood board challenge in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group

In case you are new to my blog, we do a mood board challenge every month in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group. Everyone who enters a new project using items from Reneabouquets, gets entered into a chance to win a Reneabouquets prize package at the end of the month.

Here is the kick off project that I made for this months challenge.

I've used a photo by artist Gene Schiavone, with his permission.

To make this page I applied texture paste to watercolor paper with an old credit card. I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on card stock under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a layer of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface, and painted it with gesso. While it was wet I poured on Ultra Thick Embossing Powder, and heated it until it was just melted. I put cardboard between the layers to add dimension. The background is watercolor paper.

I put the layers with the photo onto the page.

I picked out Beautiful Board, applied gesso with a brush, painted with Shimmerz Paints, and applied a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I glued on the BBoard onto the page.

I brushed on water on the bg paper, and Shimmerz Paints.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass glitter, distress glitter, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crysteal, rhiestones, a glass pebble, pressed flowers and leaves, strands of cheesecloth, tulle, lace, gold leaf, metal from Reneabouquets, flowers from Prima, pieces of floral picks, and bling and metal from my stash.

I dabbed on gold mica powder to a lot of the raised surfaces.

I splashed on Higgins White Ink, and brushed it on a few areas to make the page look less busy.

I outlined the chipboard and texture paste by brushing on black Amsterdam ink.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Look On The Bright Side

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new design team page for the amazing Reneabouquets! Go and see all the beautiful things there!I have used a photo from free google, from Stella de Libero.

To make this page I applied texture paste with a stencil onto watercolor paper. I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on card stock under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a layer of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard.I tore off most of the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put layers of foam core board between everything, to add dimension. I painted the cardboard with gesso .

I picked out Beautiful Board, applied gesso with a cosmetic sponge, then painted it with Shimmerz Paints, and when dry, topped it with a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint.I used a wet on wet technique, I brushed on color, then while wet, dropped in different colors. The crackle paint gives it an even, spread out appearance.  You can also see gold mica powder, I dabbed it on to sort of tie everything together.
The moose stamp is there because my father in law collected moose knick- knacks.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, glass glitter, metal glitter, distress glitter, seed beads, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, pressed flowers and leaves, tulle, small pieces of iridescent wrapping paper, shells, metal from Tim Holtz,a flowersfrom Reneabouquets and Prima, and bling and metal from my stash.

There is a lot of Shimmerz Paints, in lavender, purple, and pink. I layered on the different colors, until I got the effect I wanted. On the edges of the cardboard, watercolor mat, and bg watercolor paper, I brushed on a teal color. I also added Prima waxes to different areas

I added stamping at the end, by Prima mostly. I splattered on white Higgins ink.

The above photo is to show some of the dimension of the page.
Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints! These paints are so wonderfully textured and colored, I love them!
I've used a photo from free google, from Stella de Libero.

I poured on Ultra Thick Embossing Powder onto the wet gesso, and heated it till just melted.I put layers of cardboard between everything, to add dimension. I clipped the edges of the watercolor paper to a 12 x 12 " piece of cardboard to prevent warping. After I had the page all put together, I added first water, then Shimmerz Paint to the background paper. I used Dear John Letter, and Oakie Bear Blue Inklingz. On the corrugated and watercolor layers under the photo I used the same colors, and  Penny 4 Your Thoughts .

I picked out Reneabouquets Beautiful Board, applied gesso with a cosmetic sponge, then painted it with Christmas Cheer Shimmerz, and when dry, topped it with a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy.

I painted on blobs with A Rose By Any Other Name with the blue next to it, to kind of echo the pattern on the dress.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, glass glitter, metal glitter, seed beads, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, acrylic crystals, pressed flowers and leaves, strands of gauze, tulle, small pieces of iridescent wrapping paper, gold leaf, shells, metal from Tim Holtz, a Prima flower ,and bling and metal from my stash. A lot of the textural elements are from Reneabouquets.

I rubbed on gold mica powder to a lot of raised areas, and some silver over the chipboard at the top left.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Stay Strong,a Giveaway for Reneabouquets Beautiful Board 2 Year Anniversary

Hi everyone!

Reneabouquets Beautiful Board Is turning 2 this month!! And if you've happened to read up on some of the info in a Beautiful Board listing in Renea's Store, you'd see it goes a little something like this...

"What makes it sooooo beautiful? Beautiful Board, or B Board for short, was created with both Artists and their environment in mind. Each design was drawn from scratch with details that true artists crave in their products. B Board is manufactured in house in the Reneabouquets studio, using 100% virgin pulp that gives it over twice as many fibers as regular chipboard for amazing durability, and because it is virgin pulp, not recycled pulp there are no chemicals, or additives that the artist or their environment can be exposed to."

Your chance to win this is waiting for you on the
Artist's With An Edge
group page on facebook, share the giveaway announcement post and let us know what your favorite Beautiful Board is!! I'll draw a winner on Wednesday, September 18th. This is only for the U.S.A. If the winner doesn't contact me within 3 days I'll pick another.

To make this page I stenciled texture paste onto watercolor paper, and painted it with Shimmerz Paints.

I painted on gesso, Shimmerz Paints,Prima Gold Alchemy Paint, and Clear Rock Candy Crackle onto the BBoard. I added the flowers, and all the rest of embellishments. The lattice work only has Prima  paint on it, and the flourishes have crackle with gold paint on top, then more crackle on that.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, glass glitter, metal glitter, seed beads, pearls, glass beads,Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, pressed flowers and leaves, strands of gauze, small pieces of black tulle, gold lace, and iridescent wrapping paper, pink tulle trim, gold leaf, shells, metal from Reneabouquets,Tim Holtz, flowers from Reneabouquets and Prima, and bling and metal from my stash. I spread Glossy Accents on for the microbeads, glitter and seed beads, and sprinkled them on.

I used white, gold and black Amsterdam ink to outline things, and splashed on the white all over. You can see gold mica powder on almost everything on the page, and I rubbed on a little Green Brocade and White Gold Prima Wax to raised areas.

To the right of the photo I painted over microbeads and glitter. I
