Choose To Shine

Hi everyone!Melissa here with a page for Reneabouquet!I made this page to fit around the queen bee at the right. The photo inspired me too, the crown is kind of medieval looking.

To make this page I used Blue Fern paper for the background. I used a credit card to apply texture paste with a stencil. I put two layers of foam cord board between the photo and the background.I arranged the chipboard and flowers around, then picked some colors to use.  I painted the frame with Finnabair Ancient Coin Acrylic Paint, then applied a thick layer of Rock Candy Crackle.

I glued on the metal bee with clockface, put a little gesso on, and topped it with layers of paint and Finnabair White Gold Wax.

The areas that are white on the page are gesso with layers of watercolors.

To add visual interest I added mica flakes, metal glitter, diamond glitter, seed beads, micro beads, more chipboard, glass beads, moss, dried flowers, crystals, charms, tulle, gauze, Beautiful Beads, pearls, and more.
The area on the right is layers of blue and lavender Shimmerz, and diamond glass glitter, some gesso, and more Shimmerz watercolor in a pale peach color.

I painted the leaf chipboard with gesso, Shimmerz  green and brown watercolors, and topped it with Clear Rock Candy.

The Queen Bee is a beauty, with her glass wings, delicate colors, bling, and dimensional quality.

I painted the flowers with gesso, lavender Shimmerz, and Finnabair Acrylics.

I rubbed almost everything on the page with Finnabair White Gold Wax, it tied all the elements together I think.

Adventure Awaits You

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a design team page for Shimmerz Paints. It is such a pleasure to work with these high quality products.
I was inspired by the photo to make something lavender and sparkly, and I was craving some pink too.

To make this page,I used 49 and Market paper as the background. I used a credit card and a Prima stencil to apply a thick layer of texture paste. I put a double layer of foam core board under the photo for dimension, and arranged the Reneabouquet chipboard around it. I prepped the chipboard, then painted it with a mix of Pugnacious Purple and Oakie Bear Blue Inklingz. I coated it with a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle.

I put the Prima flowers, Reneabouquet butterfly, and dragonfly on. At the top of the photo is a Prima item I made with a mould and clay.

To add visual interest I added the following, seed beads, micro beads, Tim Holtz and Finnabair metal, dried moss, lichen, dried and pressed flowers, bling sequins, crystals, mica flakes, feathers, glass, distress, and metal glitter, gauze, tulle, small pieces of lace, silk ribbon, a charm, and gold leaf.

As I added things I applied paint around it, then dropped glass glitter in while it was wet.

I used a detail brush to add in some black watercolor crayon and water mix. You can see it on the chipboard, by running it along the edge, the cracks soak up the color. I used Olive U Truly on the page, and also Dear John Letter Inklingz. You can see the very pale pink of the Dear John by the stenciled areas. The gold is gold mica powder and water.

On almost every item I applied a little gesso, then more paint on top of that. I think it ties the page together.

Travel Far and Wide

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a page for Shimmerz Paints! What a pleasure to work with these rich, delicious paints, to express my love of the colors in this photo.

This second version of the same photo, I took it with my new cell phone. I had no idea it took such good pics, in my humble opinion.

To make this page I used watercolor paper for both the mat, and the background.

I used Beautiful  Board chipboard by Reneabouquets.

I stenciled on texture paste with a credit card. I arranged chipboard around the photo, prepped it with gesso, and applied paint. I put on a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle, and topped it with more paint, gesso, and gold mica powder.

I put a thin layer of paint over a lot of the page, but then wound up painting over a lot of it with gesso, things just got too busy.

To add visual interest I added the following: several little poppy flower stamps from Shimmerz stamps, tulle, cheesecloth, lichen, dried flowers, birch bark, embroidery floss, pearls, mica flakes, metal glitter, glass glitter, rhinestones, charms, rub ons, metal, seed beads, micro beads, dry embossing powder, sequins, and more. As I added things, I brushed on Shimmerz around to tie them in with page.

To the right of the metal I added clear glass glitter to wet paint. The glitter kind of drew the paint close to it.

Let Your Spirit Take Flight

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a page for Reneabouquet!  I was inspired by this photo to create a background with soft colors, and textures with swirling movement. I thought the Beautiful Board, or BB, I chose, fit the bill to reflect the elegance of the dancer.

To make this page I used a Prima stencil and applied texture paste. I used watercolors to paint everything. I have the photo mounted on watercolor paper. I put a layer of foam core board between the photo and the watercolor paper, and two layers of foam core board between that and the bottom layer. For the BB, I prepped it with gesso, painted it pink, and applied a layer of Ranger Crackle Paint.

To add visual interest I used Glossy Accents to glue on the following,a Reneabouquet dragonfly, mica flakes, micro beads, seed beads, crystals, metal, bling, sequins, shells, glass, black tulle, gold leaf, glass glitter, lichen, feathers, pressed flowers, gold embroidery floss, and more.

Almost everything has a little gesso dry brushed on it. I added more watercolors to the BB, and kept adding layers of color to the page.

I painted the raised areas of the texture paste with Art Alchemy Sparks Acrylic paint and watercolors too. I coated that with a thick layer of Crackle Paint. I outlined the painted areas with a detail brush and a mix of black watercolor crayon and water. I could have used black gesso but this way was less of a mess.

One of the last steps was dabbing a little gold mica powder on several areas, just to add a little extra color and shine.

Here are four photos that show the dimension more:
