Hi everyone! It's April, which means there is a new mood board challenge in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group

In case you are new to my blog, we do a mood board challenge every month in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group. Everyone who enters a new project using items from Reneabouquets, gets entered into a chance to win a Reneabouquets prize package at the end of the month.

Here is the kick off project that I made for this month's challenge.

To make this page I applied clear gesso to 49 & Market Paper

I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a mat of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most of the paper from the top of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put two layers of cardboard between the layers to add dimension.

I put the layers with the photo onto the page.

I put texture paste on with a stencil and an old credit card.

I picked out Beautiful Board, applied gesso with a brush, attached it to the page with foam tape, and painted it with green and brown Shimmerz Paints. I applied a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I brushed on black ink on the edges of the chipboard, and applied white Higgins Ink on the paper underneath, to help make it stand out.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, gold leaf, glass glitter, distress glitter, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, sequins, pressed flowers and leaves, black tulle, strands of gold cheesecloth, wire, iridescent wrapping paper, gold lace, metal from Reneabouquets,Tim Holtz,Vintaj, flowers from  Reneabouquets,Prima and bling and metal from my stash. Most of the items are glued on individually with Glossy Accents. There are some fussy cut images of fairies and things from Graphic 45 papers, Fairy Frost, and Bloom.

I combined different colors of Shimmerz Paints on the mat and corrugated cardboard. I added gold mica powder on in different areas on the page.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

This Moment

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a design team page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints. I love these                                paints, the colors are so rich and fun to work with! Photo credit: Alvin Mahmudov.

Who wants to win a $50.00 Shimmerz Shop credit? Heck yes! Learn how today on the Shimmerz Paints blog!

To make this page I put the layers under the photo together first, including taping water color paper under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a mat of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put two layers of cardboard between each of the layers to add dimension, and taped it to the background paper.

I applied texture paste with a stencil and a credit card on Blue Fern paper. I sprinkled it with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder(UTEE) and heated it.

I picked out Reneabouquets Beautiful Board, arranged it around the page, took it off, and prepped it with gesso. I painted them with Christmas Cheer Shimmerz, then topped them with a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I brushed on white gesso, then some gold mica powder. I painted the mat with a mix of Emerald City, Steely Blue Eyes, and Olive U Truly Inklingz, but pretty much covered everything with gesso. The page had a huge amount of product on it, it was too busy. I took almost everything off, and brushed on gesso on almost everything. I used Pixie Dust Shimmerz on the corrugated.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass shard glitter, gold leaf, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, sequins, glass marbles, tulle, flowers from Reneabouquets, and metal from Vintaj. I added green tulle to try and tone down the background.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Below that is a layer of watercolor paper, and under that is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put two layers of corrugated cardboard between each layer to add dimension.

I put the layers with the photo onto the page. I applied texture paste with a stencil to the paper with an old credit card.I painted the stenciled area with Prima Mermaid Sparks paint, and softened the edges of it with pale pink Shimmerz.

I picked out Beautiful Board(BBoard), painted it with Shimmerz Paints, and topped it with a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I added a little blue and gold mica powder on the pink flowers.

I drew out colors from the photo to the mat and corrugated.
