Shimmerz Paints Design Team Page, With All My Heart, By Melissa Larson

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new design team post for the amazing Shimmerzpaints! I love their rich texture and colors!

To make this page I put the layers under the photo together first, including taping water color paper under the image to make it stronger and lie flat. Below that is a mat of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with white gesso. I put two or three layers of cardboard between each of the layers to add dimension, and taped it to the background paper with double sided foam tape.

I coated Prima's Georgia Blue paper with clear gesso, put the layers with the photo on, then applied Prima Platinum texture paste with a small piece of a credit card,a Prima stencil.

I picked out Reneabouquets Beautiful Board, figured out where it would go on the page, took it off, and prepped it with white gesso.

I painted the mat,and corrugated, with Ultra Marine Shimmerz ,Steely Blue Eyes and Dear John Letter  Inklingz . The chipboard has Dear John on it too.

To add visual interest I glued on Antique Linen embossing powder by Ranger, to look like sand,      micro beads, seed beads, gold leaf, swarovski crystals, glass shard glitter, glass beads, pearls, sequins, tulle, pressed flowers, leaves, lichen, flowers from Reneabouquets and Prima, metal from Reneabouquets, and bling and metal from my stash.  A lot of the textural elements are from Reneabouquets, including the printed Beautiful Board.

At the bottom of the mat I used Precious Metal Shimmerz, and more Steely Blue Eyes.

I used a lot of different colors at the lower right of the page: Imperial Amethyst, Blue Lagoon,Me And Blue, Oakie Bear Blue, Blue My Mind, and Green Goddess Inklingz. The Shimmerz: Pool Me Closer, Ultra Marine, and Peacock's Plume. The pink colors above are:Dear John, Coral Reef, and A Rose(By Any Other Name) Inklingz.

I used a lot of white gesso at the bottom of the page, because things started looking too busy.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Reneabouquets Design Team Page, Sleep And Dream, by Melissa Larson

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Reneabouquets. Go and see all the fun treasures there!

@mlarson525 I have a 29 second Instagram video of when I started painting this page.

To make this page I applied clear gesso to 49 and Market paper. I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a mat of watercolor paper, and under that is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put two or three layers of corrugated cardboard between each layer to add dimension.

I put the layers with the photo onto the page. I applied Prima Platinum Crackle Paste with a stencil to the paper with an old credit card.

I picked out Beautiful Board(BBoard),prepped it with gesso, painted it with green and gold Shimmerz on the leaves and stars, and topped them with a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I painted the BB Small Stackable Honey Bee Pattern with Pixie Dust Shimmerz, then a little green Shimmerz and some crackle.I added a few pieces of Sweet Daisy BBoard.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass glitter, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, sequins, gold leaf, pressed flowers and leaves, tulle, iridescent wrapping paper, flowers from Reneabouquets , metal from Reneabouquets, clay pieces from a Prima Mould,a glass bottle I put some chain inside, and bling and metal from my stash. There are small fussy cut pieces from Graphic 45 papers.

I made the background with layers of Shimmerz paints, white ink,Prima waxes, alcohol ink, distress ink, and citrine colored Mica powder. I topped a lot of the page with a gold paste by Shimmerz. I added white gesso to make some negative space, because the page got too busy. I flicked on white ink at the end.

I glued on iridescent wrapping paper on the copper spoon, and glued moonstones on top. I wrapped on some copper wire. I added shimmerz paint, prima waxes, and mica powder. The little orange things are seeds from a flower from a bunch that my husband surprised me with a few weeks ago.

To make this page I put the layers under the photo together first, including taping water color paper under the image to make it stronger and lie flat. Below that is a mat of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with white gesso. While the gesso was wet, I poured on Ultra Thick Embossing Powder, and melted it with a heat tool. I put layers of cardboard between each of the layers to add dimension, and taped it to the background paper. I used double sided foam tape.

I coated Prima Moon Child paper with clear gesso, put the layers with the photo on, then applied texture paste with a Prima stencil and a small piece of an old credit card.

I picked out Reneabouquets Beautiful Board, figured out where it would go on the page, took it off, and prepped it with white gesso.

I painted the mat,and corrugated with Pink-A- Boo Inklingz and Pixie Dust Blingz. The purple to the right of the photo layers is Imperial Amethyst Inklingz, one of my all time favorite colors.  Near the Amethyst is Blue My Mind , Greener Pastures, and Dear John Letter  Inklingz. To the left of the photo is the Amethyst, and Dear John paints. I brushed on Penny 4 Your Thoughts around the edges of the mat and corrugated. I outlined a few areas with a black ink pen.

I spread Citrine Mica Powder by Pearlex pretty much all over the page, using a brush, my finger to rub it on, and also flicking it on.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, swarovski crystals, glass shard glitter, glass beads, pearls, sequins, pressed flowers, leaves, lichen, flowers from Reneabouquets and Prima, metal from Reneabouquets, and bling and metal from my stash.  A lot of the textural elements are from Reneabouquets, including the printed Beautiful Board, and paper fairy.

Reneabouquets Artists With An Edge August 2020 Moodboard Challenge

Hi everyone! It's August, which means there is a new mood board challenge in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group

In case you are new to my blog, we do a mood board challenge every month in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group. Everyone who enters a new project using items from Reneabouquets, gets entered into a chance to win a Reneabouquets prize package at the end of the month.

Here is the kick off project that I made for this month's challenge.

To make this page I applied clear gesso to 49 and Market's Sonnet paper, from the Irrevocable Beauty Collection.

I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger and to lie flat. Below that is a watercolor paper mat, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most of the paper from the top of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I sprinkled on Ultra Thick Embossing Powder on, and heated it.I put two or three layers of cardboard between the layers to add dimension.

I put the layers with the photo onto the page.

I had already painted the page with clear gesso. I applied Prima Platinum crackle paste with a stencil and an old credit card. I picked out Beautiful Board, and sponged on gesso. The Beautiful Board flourish to the right of the photo is Olive U Truly, a pale green watercolor by Shimmerzpaints, topped with Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I used pale greens and blues, and a shimmery brown color over the mat, corrugated, and background paper.

To add visual interest I added Printed Beautiful Board, micro beads, seed beads, gold leaf, glass glitter, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, sequins, pressed flowers and leaves, strands of gold cheesecloth, gold lace, black tulle, off white tulle trim, iridescent wrapping paper, rub ons, wire, metal from Reneabouquets and Vintaj, flowers from  Reneabouquets,Prima, shells, glass pebbles, and bling and metal from my stash. Most of the things are glued on individually with Glossy Accents. There are some fussy cut images from Graphic 45 and Prima papers.

I used a lot of Citrine Pearlex Mica Powder on the raised surfaces. I rubbed it on with my finger. I later added turquoise and green. I painted the edges of the layers layers mica powder, and Shimmerzpaints.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!
