Shimmerzpaints Design Team Page,"Peace", by Melissa Larson

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new design team post for the amazing Shimmerzpaints! I love their                                                                    rich texture and colors!

Photo credit: Roberto Nickson, at Unsplash

To make this page I put the layers under the photo together first, including taping water color paper under the image to make it stronger and lie flat. Below that is a mat of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with white gesso.I sprinkled on Ultra Thick Embossing Powder, and heated it until it was just melted, and taped it to the background paper with double sided foam tape. Between the layers there's more cardboard, to give dimension.

I put a layer of Clear Gesso on 49 and Market paper. I applied Prima Platinum texture paste with a small spatula and a Prima Stencil.

I attached the flowers first with double sided foam tape. I added the chipboard, beads, and then the paint. I mixed colors together, and kept adding more. I rubbed on gold mica powder on raised surfaces and edges.

I used the following colors on the page,Pixie Dust and Gold Glimmer which are both Blingz plus Shimmerz, Teal The End Of Time and Peacock Plume,Ultra Marine, and Precious Metal   Shimmerz , Dear John Letter, Pink-A-Boo, Penny 4 Your Thoughts, Coral Reef HoneymoonFirst Blush,Steely Blue Eyes, Hot Stuff, Blue My Mind, and Imperial Amethyst Inklingz.   In a lot of places, I mixed in gold mica powder right on the paper into the wet paint.

As final touches, I used dry gold mica powder on edges and surfaces. I mixed it with water to add a lot to different areas,to sort of tie the elements together, and add more sparkle.

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass glitter ,glass beads, pearls, rhinestones, swarovski crystals, sequins, glass hearts, iridescent wrapping paper, fussy cut images from the Botanist's Sticker Anthology, tulle, pressed flowers, shells, metal from Reneabouquets, and Vintaj, flowers from  Reneabouquets ,and bling and metal from my stash. Most of the things are glued on individually with Glossy Accents. The chipboard and Printed Beautiful Board are from Reneabouquets.

Thanks for looking, and have a great week!

Below that is a watercolor paper mat, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most of the paper from the top of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I poured on Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, and heated it until it was just melted.

I put the layers with the photo onto the page.

I applied Prima Platinum crackle paste with a stencil and a spatula.I arranged the Beautiful Board and flowers around the page, then added the beads and fussy cut images.I brushed on Shimmerz Paints, and glued on more beads. I applied gold mica powder with my finger on a lot of edges and raised areas. I dry brushed on Prima pink Sparks paint on random spots. I put layers of paints and mica powder on, to complement the colors of the photo.
