Start Each Day With A Grateful Heart



Hi everyone! Melissa here with a design team page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints. I love these paints, the colors are so rich!

I've used a photo from free google, by Stella de Libero.






I put the layers under the photo together,including taping water color paper under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a mat of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put two layers of cardboard between each of the layers to add dimension, and taped it to the background watercolor paper.

I applied texture paste with a stencil and a credit card.

I picked out Reneabouquets Beautiful Board,arranged it around the page, took it off, and prepped it with gesso. I painted them with Pixie Dust Shimmerz,then A Rose ( By Any Other Name)  I added a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy Crystal. Later I added  Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz, gold and then silver mica powder.

A lot of the textural elements are from Reneabouquets. 

I drew out the colors of the photo to the watercolor mat and cardboard. I used  A Rose ( By Any Other Name) , Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz, and Green Olive Shimmerz.

I painted the background with First Blush, and a little Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz.








To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass glitter,distress glitter,gold leaf,glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones,sequins, pressed flowers and leaves,pieces of floral picks,gold lace,flowers from Prima and Reneabouquets, metal from Tim Holtz,Reneabouquets, and bling and metal from my stash. The gorgeous butterfly is from Reneabouquets.

Focus On What's Important




Hi everyone! Melissa here with a design team page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints. I love these paints, they're easy to use, and the colors are so rich!I've used a photo from free google, by A.M. Lorek.






I put the layers under the photo together,including taping water color paper under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a mat of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso, I put two layers of cardboard between each of the layers to add dimension. 

I painted the paper from 49& Market with clear gesso,and applied texture paste with a stencil and a credit card. 

I picked out Reneabouquets Beautiful Board,arranged it around the page, took it off, and prepped it with gesso. I painted them with Pixie Dust Shimmerz,then Honeymoon Inklingz.   I added a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy Crystal.A lot of the textural elements are from Reneabouquets. Later I added some Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz.

I painted the stenciled areas with Precious Metal Shimmerz, then went over it with Bark Intense Watercolor Pencil, a black pen, then Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklingz. I was trying to show the detail of the stencil.





To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass glitter,distress glitter,copper leaf,glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones,sequins, shells, pressed flowers and leaves,tulle,ribbon,pieces of floral picks,flowers from Prima and Reneabouquets, metal from Tim Holtz,Reneabouquets, Vinaj, and bling and metal from my stash. The gorgeous dragonfly is from Reneabouquets.

Reneabouquets Design Team Project, "Good Things Are Going To Happen", by Melissa Larson



Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Reneabouquets, go and see all the beautiful things there! I've used a photo from free google by Stella de Libero.





To make this page I applied clear gesso to Blue Fern paper. I put the layers under the photo together,starting with taping on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a layer of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface of the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put two layers of corrugated cardboard between the layers to add dimension. 

I put the layers with the photo onto the page. I applied texture paste with a stencil to the paper with an old credit card. 

I picked out Beautiful Board(BBoard), painted it with Prima Sparks and Shimmerz Paints,and topped it with a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I added more Prima Sparks, and mica powder.




To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads,glass glitter, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, gold leaf, rhinestones,sequins, glass pebbles, pressed flowers and leaves,tulle,lace,iridescent wrapping paper, fussy cut pieces from Graphic 45 Bloom Collection, metal from Reneabouquets, Tim Holtz, shells,flowers from Prima and Reneabouquets, pieces of floral picks, and bling and metal from my stash.There are gorgeous dragonflies from Reneabouquets.





I used Shimmerz Paints in lavender, green, and brown on the watercolor paper, corrugated, and base paper. 
In the photo above, to the right of the bee, there's a RB glass fairy opal bead. You can see a few colors that it seems to glow with. I used a lot on the page. 























As a final step I splashed on Higgins white ink, and also added it to some areas of the page.

Reneabouquets January 2020 Mood Board Challenge


Hi everyone! It's January, which means there is a new mood board challenge in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group. 

In case you are new to my blog, we do a mood board challenge every month in the Reneabouquets Artists With an Edge Facebook Group. Everyone who enters a new project using items from Reneabouquets, gets entered into a chance to win a Reneabouquets prize package at the end of the month. 

Here is the kick off project that I made for this month's challenge.

I've used a photo from free google, from Stella de Libero.
















To make this page I applied clear gesso to Tattered Remnants paper. I put texture paste on with a stencil and an old credit card. I sprinkled on UTEE,ultra thick embossing powder on, and melted it with a heat gun.

 I put the layers under the photo together,starting with taping on card stock under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a layer of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard. I tore off most the paper from the surface, and painted it with gesso. I put two layers of cardboard between the layers to add dimension. 

I put the layers with the photo onto the page.






I picked out Beautiful Board, applied gesso with a brush, painted with Art Alchemy Butterfly Spells Paint, and applied a thick layer of Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I glued the BBoard onto the page.





To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, gold leaf,distress glitter,glass glitter, glass beads, pearls, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones,sequins, pressed flowers and leaves, cheesecloth, black tulle,gold lace,silk ribbon,wrapping paper, shells,metal from Reneabouquets, 7 Gypsies,Tim Holtz, flowers from  Reneabouquets,Prima,pieces from floral picks, and bling and metal from my stash. The gorgeous butterfly is from Reneabouquets. There's some fussy cut butterflies from the Graphic 45 Bloom collection.


I combined Prima Steampunk Copper Paint and Penny 4 Your Thoughts Shimmerz Inklingz on the corrugated. I splashed the background of the page with Higgins White Ink.
