Vintage

Hi, Melissa here with my latest addition to Gina's Designs.  I used the wings  as the main feature. I loved decorating them because they look so real, and are so beautiful. I used texture paste followed by several layers of lumiers. The frog is there because my husband likes them.

Hi!  Melissa here with two cards using chipboard from Gina's Designs, and papers from The Robin's Nest. On the card at left I've used chippies I had on hand from other projects, so I was able to put it together quickly.  I used lumieres over white acrylic paint, stickles,  and microbeads.  I also added some lichen from my yard and some mica flakes at the lower left. To mat the image I've used paper from the The Robin's Nest called Valentine Stripe Cardstock.

On the second card I painted both the dress form and the canvas piece behind it with white acrylic paint . On the canvas piece I also mixed in some pink with the white paint.  Both were then coated with Perfect Pearls and water for added sheen. I painted the butterfly wings and hearts with Silk Acrylic paint, and then topped it with the same pearl powder. To accent the canvas I've matted it with paper from the Robin's Nest called Valentine Stripe Cardstock, and Red Glitter Paisley Paper.

Romance

This is made of wood, and measures 7 by 8 inches.is was inspired by a post on Pinterest, called Mini dresser with matchboxes,by Andrea Teixeira . Her blog is called OBJECTOS BY DEA. I 'de already planned on using this dresser, and when  I saw the scene above her's I thought , hey that's a great idea.
I enjoyed the colors from last week' Valentine's post so much that i felt like making something pink. The background  is watercolor paper that I sprayed with water , then red Dylusions ink. I painted the wood with acrylic paints. I made some texture on the front, and top of the dresser using  a piece of lace as a stencil, and clear gloss gel medium.

Love Conquers All

This started off as a lift of Abbygirls "Days Gone By" of November 4th, 2012,but very quickly took a turn elsewhere.

I started off with watercolor ppr i had painted on a few months ago.   I did several of them because they were so fun.   I sprayed water on the ppr, then dylusions ink sprays.   This one was just red, but when it dried it looked kind of orange.  I sprayed some more red on it when i started this.   I painted some stripes of silk acrylic on in dark pink.  I splattered art deco pen on in gold. Then some painting with gold and silver mica powder.  I put some texture paste on the right side using chipboard as a stencil.  You can see what i used in the lower left of the page, the heart shapes.

The photo is from one of my first Valentine's days with my husband.

The chipboard is from Gina's designs:

Fairy and Flourish

Fairy and Flourish

I painted this wood trinket box with gesso, then Twinkling H2os, then brushed on  silver Jaquard mica powder. I put texture paste onto a cardstock doily. I painted with more H2Os. I painted over gesso on the fairy and flourish, used H2Os,then a layer of crackle, then more paint to bring out cracks. Then another layer of crackle. I put the chippies on, then the the little border curls. The curls I painted with liquid pearls. Then I embellished with things. The thought of making something I could put stuff into was interesting to me,  rather than a layout that I put in a pile with the rest of them.

Mermaid and Dolphin

I used some texture paste with a Prima stencil.  I painted the raised areas with Liquid Pearls.  I outlined them with gel pens and watercolors.  I used twinkle h20s using purple , blue , and mixed in some winton and lewis dark blue to make the color the more intense blue purple tinge I wanted. I used that color all over here to make the overall look more lavender, versus aqua.

I used little pieces of DA painted with a teal silk paint, some lumiers, then coated with crackle. When the crackle dried I put some more of the watercolor mix on, and that brought out the crackle effect. I like it better than chalk or ink because the watercolor doesn't affect the shine of the crackle.
