Home in California

Hi Melissa here today with a mini album using Gina's Designs Lasercuts.  The photos are from a home I once had in Northern California. The chipboard was painted with gesso, then I applied chalk ink.  I put on a coat of glossy accents to complete them.
The first photo you see when you open the album is my cat Bosley running toward me when I whistled to him.   I could never see him till he showed up running. The second photo is Bosley in one of his favorite spots in the sun to sleep. To me he almost looks like he's glowing, the sun is so bright on his white fur. The last photo is what the view was  when I was  in the living room.

I really enjoyed making this project.  Thanks for looking!

Fairy on Key Holder

Hi Melissa here with a project using Gina's Designs Laser Chipboard. This key shape got my imagination going.  I painted with gesso, followed by lumieres. To give some texture I lightly embossed in white, then put more paint on. Thanks for looking!

Woman With Flowers and Frame

Hi Melissa here with a 12x12 page using Gina's Lasercuts Designs Chipboard. I love this frame, it's very graceful with its swirls and flourishes.   I painted it with gesso, followed by layers of acrylic paint, watercolors, and lumieres. The purple background is on watercolor paper, using a mix of ink and watercolors.  I pooled the same mix on the textured areas Ide applied with a stencil. The frame
is raised above the page with tulle under it. The items on the frame are about an inch above the surface with thin wire. Thanks for looking!

Vintage Photo with frame

Hi there, Melissa here with a 12 x 12 page using Gina's Designs Lasercut chipboard shapes. The frame and background were painted with gesso, metallic acrylic paints, and topped with crackle accents.  I also added stitching to the page, giving it an old fashioned look.   It reminds me of how my Mom and I used to sew and do cross stitch.  The frame's design is beautiful, composed  of  flowing lines, leaves, and curves.  I thought it complemented the vintage photo really well.

I added flowers, bling and metals that looked as if they might have come from that period of time. Pearls with their soft luster give an added dimension of  color and texture. I think the colors of the paper and the metallic paint, give the page a ghostly look. I also added some Tim Holtz rub-ons and tissue tape to fit the theme.  Thanks for looking!
