"Laughter Is Timeless,Imagination Has No Age, And Dreams Are Forever", For The Shimmerz Paints Design Team

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints! Go and see all the                                                                               fun treasures there!

I put the layers under the photo together, starting with taping on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger and to lie flat. I taped together layers of cardboard with the photo on top.I made a mat out of watercolor paper.

I applied Prima Platinum crackle through a Finnabair stencil with a spatula. I put the layers on the page, and started other items. I applied white gesso to the chipboard so the paint would have something to "grip onto to".

I brushed on different colors of  Shimmerz paints on watercolor paper and                                                                 chipboard:

To add visual interest I added micro beads, seed beads, glass glitter, iridescent wrapping paper, glass beads, pearls, metal from Reneabouquets,Tim Holtz, Vintaj,Finnabair, Beautiful Board from Reneabouquet, and bling and metal from my stash. I used a small amount of Stamperia's Art Alchemy papers. I rubbed on gold mica powder on a lot of of the raised areas. Most of the things are glued on individually with Glossy Accents.I used double sided foam tape for heavier items, and to put the cardboard layers together.

I made this as a gift for my brother in
law, for his tiki hut. I made another one for him, listed on my Instagram for June 19th, 2019. This is a photo of Eltz Castle in Germany, parts of it are from the 9th century. I picked this because Henry likes Disney, and this castle is similar to Neuschwanstein in Southern Bavaria. Walt Disney was inspired by Neuschwanstein for the design of the castle in Disneyland.

In the upper right hand corner is a sterling silver cross. It’s hard to see but in the lower right hand corner I put the following: freshwater pearls, labradorite, moonstone, peridot, citrine, amethyst, abalone shells, apatite, quartz, and the green bead is jade. They’re from my beading days, and I thought they could symbolize a treasure chest, because Henry likes pirates too. Pirates are the theme of the 2019 post.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!
