Choose To Shine!

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new design team page for the amazing Reneabouquets! Go and see all the beautiful things there!

I have used a photo from free google, by A.M. Lorek.

To make this page I brushed clear gesso on paper by Blue Fern Studios, Happy Accident 2.I put texture paste on with a credit card and two different Tim Holtz stencils, then put the layers under the photo together. I taped on card stock under the image to make it stronger. Below that is a layer of watercolor paper, and at the bottom is corrugated cardboard.I tore off most of the paper from the surface from the cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I put layers of foam core board between everything, to add dimension.

I picked out Beautiful Board, painted it with gesso, then Pixie Dust Shimmerz Paint.

To add visual interest I glued on micro beads, glass glitter, seed beads, glass beads, pearls, sequins, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, shells, tiny pieces of gold lace and black tulle, pressed flowers and leaves, flowers from Reneabouquet and Prima, metal from Reneabouquets,Tim Holtz, and bling and metal from my stash. I did a fast drawing of the woman above the dragonfly.

I love the delicacy of the Beautiful Board!

I glued a piece of Prima paper from Spring Farmhouse on Reneabouquets Baroque Metal Frame. I added a layer of Dimensional Magic by Mod Podge. When it was dry I glued on pink glass beautiful beads.
I drew out the colors of the photo onto the watercolor paper, the corrugated, and the background paper.

To take photos I put the page on a reversed 16 x 20 canvas, just to have a nicer background than my patio. The purple paint is Honeymoon Inklingz, the blue is Ultramarine Shimmerz, the green is Olive u Truly Inklingz.

I used white ink in a few areas while the other colors were wet, and I also splattered with it.This is the first time I've dropped white ink into water colors, and the effect is really unique looking. The white is opaque, so it stands out and kind of displaces the other paint. The moth is washi tape from Tim Holtz. I fussy cut it and put glossy accents behind it and over it.
At the end I dabbed on gold mica powder on edges and surfaces of things around the page.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!
