Out of Limitations Comes Creativity

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a design team page for Reneabouquets! I've used a google free photo by A.M. Lorek.
It's always a pleasure to use such high quality, beautiful, products from Reneabouquets!

To make this page I applied clear gesso to Lavender Frost paper. I applied texture paste with a stencil, then put the layers under the photo together. I took some corrugated cardboard, ripped off some of the surface paper off, and painted it with gesso. On top of the cardboard I added watercolor paper, foam core board, and a layer of cardstock taped to the photo. I used double sided tape. The extra paper helps the photo lie flat, otherwise there's too much glare from warping when I take photos of it.

I picked out Beautiful Board (B Board),prepped with gesso, painted with Shimmerz Paints, and topped it with Clear Rock Candy Crackle.

To add visual interest I added microbeads, glass glitter, mica flakes, seed beads, pearls, rhinestones, shells, pressed flowers and leaves, lichen, Prima flowers, metal from Reneabouquets, Tim Holtz, chain, tulle, and tiny pieces of lace. Most of the paint is Shimmerz, but I also used Finnabair Sparks,Waxes, and Tattered Angels. I used gold and purple mica powder for highlights. I wanted to show the dimensions with the above photo. There's a total of 5 layers of foam core board.

I pretty much coated the background with gesso, because things just got too busy.

A lot of the raised areas of the chipboard and cardboard have gesso on them.I kept adding and changing colors to get something I wanted.I added a little Prima stamping at the end, and also rubbed on some Green Brocade Prima wax on different areas.

There's a lot of texture with all the microbeads and glitter.

To help tie things together, I brush a little gesso on almost everything, then add more paint, or mica powder.

I tucked in some pale aqua tulle at the sides and top of the layers. I glued a Butterfly Kiss on top there. The key has gesso, paint, and mica powders on it. I glued some rhinestones in the indentations at the top of the key itself, and tied on some white silk ribbon.Right by the key is a Tim Holtz charm. I glued in a piece of Art Alchemy paper by Stamperia, and topped it with Dimensional Magic.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Good Heart

I made this page just for fun. I've been watching a lot of Marta Lapkowska YouTubes lately. She inspired me to go buy a similar journal, and make these pages. I have learned so much from watching her paint.

The above is in direct sunlight, below is not.

To make this I brushed on clear gesso, then applied texture paste with a stencil and a credit card. I used Shimmers and Art Alchemy Paints, and Tattered Angels spray in purple and brown colors.

I took a paintbrush and poured on Clear Rock Candy Crackle on the raised areas. I didn't brush or ink brown paint paint over the cracks so they're kind of hard to see. I outlined the raised areas with Derwent Inktense by holding a Bark colored pencil sideways and sort of scraping the top textures. I took a gel type pen and outlined a lot of areas. I rubbed gold mica powder on top. All the white is layers of gesso I sponged and painted on, to create some balance with all the detail I've used. In the end I used a lot of diamond glitter from Reneabouquets, I spread on glossy accents, then pour the glitter on.

To add visual interest I applied microbeads, seed beads, pearls, rhinestones, pressed flowers, mica flakes, glass glitter, stamping, tulle, a metal tag, and more. The title sticker is from Tim Holts, as is the tissue paper butterfly. The stamping is Prima and Finnabair.

The metal tag is Tim Holts. I used Green Brocade Prima Wax on the page.

Trust in Your Heart

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a design team post for Shimmerz Paints!I've used a photo by Miina Anahita with her permission.

To make this page I applied texture paste with a stencil to a piece of Blue Fern Paper. To put the photo on I made layers with corrugated cardboard, watercolor paper, and foam core board. I prepped some chipboard from Reneabouquet and painted it with First Blush, and Greener Pastures Inklingz. I used a paintbrush to pour on Clear Rock Candy Crackle. I put pieces of Alchemy Paper by Stamperia around the border of the layers.

I glued the chipboard on, then added the rest of the embellishments. To add visual interest I used micro beads, glass glitter, mica powder, seed beads, pearls, glass beads, rhinestones, sequins, dried flowers, lichen, Tim Holts and Vintaj metal, tiny blue flowers by 49 and Market, and a butterfly by Reneabouquets.

On the cardboard I used Greener Pastures and Penny 4 Your Thoughts Inklinz.n

The gold is Golden Wheat Shimmerz  on the paper and cardboard. I used gold mica powder too.

I made the round item at the left with a Prima mold. The blue is Oakie Bear Blue Inklingz.

Live in the Moment

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a design team post for Shimmerz Paints! I've used a photo by A.M. Lorek, from free google. I love using these high quality paints.

To make this page I applied gesso to Remnants Blue Fern paper. I stenciled on texture paste. To put together the layers under the photo, I ripped off some of the paper from corrugated cardboard, and painted it with gesso. I mounted the photo on cardstock and watercolor paper.I  used layers of foam core board between the layers of paper to add dimension. I cut up pieces of Alchemy paper by Stamperia and put them around the page. I picked out chipboard by Reneabouquets, and applied gesso with a cosmetic sponge, and glued it to the page. I painted it, applied a thick coat of Clear Rock Candy Crackle, and later added more color.

To add visual interest I used  micro beads, glass glitter, mica powder, seed beads, pearls, glass beads, rhinestones, sequins, dried flowers and leaves, shells,Tim Holtz metal, flowers by Prima and Petaloo, and a butterfly from Reneabouquets.

I dabbed on gold mica powder around the page.

All the brown paint at the bottom is Penny 4 Your Thoughts.

Creativity Takes Courage

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a design team post for Reneabouquets! I've used a google free photo  by A.M. Lorek.
It's always a pleasure to use the beautiful and high quality products found at Reneabouquets!

To make this page I applied texture paste with a stencil, then put the layers under the photo together. I took some corrugated cardboard, ripped some of the surface paper off, painted with gesso, then while wet sprinkled on Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. I used the cardboard, watercolor paper, and foam core board to make more dimension. The Graphic 45 paper pieces are on double sided foam tape.

I used Steampunk Debutante paper to frame the photo. I picked out Beautiful Board(B board), prepped with gesso, painted it with Shimmerz Paints, and topped it with Clear Rock Candy Crackle.

I scribbled on paper with a Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencil, mixed it with a little water, and held a brush with it up to the edge of the B Board. The crackle absorbed the color, to make the cracks more visible. I brushed on some gold paint and mica powder to highlight the blue tones. Underneath the chipboard is a Prima mold item I made with Sculpy clay. I painted it with gesso, then used Finnabairs brass paint from the patina paint set to color it. The rusty washer to the left of it is also from Prima.

To add visual interest I added microbeads, glass glitter, mica flakes, seed beads, glass beads, pearls, cystals, rhinestones, glass marbles, shells, pressed flowers, pressed leaves, sticks, moss, pieces from flower picks, Prima flowers, metal from Reneabouquets, Prima,Tim Holtz, and Vintaj, old jewelry, chain, strands of cheesecloth, and tiny pieces of lace. Most of the paint is Shimmerz, but I also used Finnabair metallics and waxes. I used gold mica powder to kind of highlight the colors and textures. To add microbeads and seed beads I spread on Glossy Accents with my finger, then pour them on. Later I go back and put some coppery colored watercolor paint on to add definition and color.

I like to add a lot of detail to the bottom of the page. I dry brushed a little gesso on top of surfaces to kind of tie things together.

I added a little Prima stamping at the end. The tiny green crystals are plastic. I painted a lot of the background with gesso, to give more negative space, and added a pale pink watercolor around the layers.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!

Just Believe

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new design team post for Reneabouquets! I've used a Google free photo by A.M. Lorek.
It's great to have such beautiful and high quality materials to work with.

To make this page I spread mat medium on the page with a credit card. I applied texture paste with a stencil, then put the layers under the photo together. I used corrugated cardboard, watercolor paper, and foam core board to make more dimension.I picked out chipboard, painted it, and applied a thick layer of Rock Candy Crackle.

To add visual interest I added microbeads, glass glitter, metal glitter, seed beads, glass beads, pearls, crystals, rhinestones, glass pebbles, pressed flowers, dried moss, pieces from flower picks, Prima flowers, metal from Reneabouquets and Vintaj, old jewelry, chain, cheesecloth, tiny pieces of lace, paints by Shimmerz,Finnabair, and Tattered Angels.

I love the B board star shapes.

Reneabouquets butterflies, or in this case a moth, are amazing.

I've made a lot of pages with Blue Fern's Tattered Walls Collection.

In many places I painted the microbeads with watercolors, letting the color pool and dry to give them more definition.

There are small pieces of metallic gold lace all over the page.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!
